English Only?

A number of organisations are now adopting an English only policy for their employees. The key aims are to improve performance and communication.

However, does English as the lingua franca create a level playing field in business or create a divide between native speakers and everyone else?

What do you think? Is this the inevitable path for any company looking to operate internationally? Or is it a strategy that will meet with sufficient resistance to consign it to rapid extinction?
